THE MAYOR KAVUŞ; “WE DO NOT HAVE ANY OVERDUE OR WAITING DEBTS
The Mayor Kavuş highlighted that they do not have any overdue or waiting debts in spite of the important works and investments done. He stated that they made investments; on the other hand, they also used the budget in an effective and productive way.
OUR MOTTO IS INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION IS THE MOST VALUABLE ONE FOR THE FUTURE
We started to conduct the investments and supports in a more organized way through the Directorate of Services for Youth and Sport. We conducted a different project for each age group. Within Enderun Meram we have been conducting studies about values education for the 1st and 2nd grades, KOP Nature School for 3rd grades, Traffic education for 4th grades, Science-worm education for the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades, and increasing academic success from 4th grade to 8th grade.
MERAM MADE HISTORY IN BATTLE AGAINST PANDEMIC
Meram Municipality used a budget of 15 million TL in fighting against pandemic. The municipality was one of the first institutions which set up fidelity social support group and met 46 thousand demands. Meram Municipality textile mill produced 10 thousand disposable masks per day. From the very first day, about 6 thousand litres of sanitiser have been used in cleaning. We gave 9, 6 million TL support to our craftsmen and our people. 7, 3 million was social support and 2, 3 million was rental support. Also, 1000 TL was given to other occupational groups such as canteen keepers, bus service drivers, and coffee house owners. We dedicated our Tenzile Ana Guest House to our doctors and nurses. We also dedicated our social facilities to our filiation teams. We have never made compromises in our controls during the process.”
ONE-THIRD OF MERAM, OUR WHOLE HEART IS WITH AGRICULTURE
The agriculture and farmer supports which started in 2019 also continued in 2020. The Mayor Kavuş stated that “we made section of agricultural services real. Our farmers became happier with machine and equipment support which were given by both our metropolitan municipality and vegetable seedling production facility.”
A RECORD WITH 2 MILLION 635 THOUSAND m2 ASPHALT
Asphalt has been one of the most important problems and in two years most of the problems have been solved. Mayor Kavuş reminded that they have started to run their own asphalt plant with a capacity of 240 tonnes per hour. In two years, 2 million 635 thousand m2 asphalt have been paved over, 222 thousand metres of curbs and 467 thousand metres cobblestones have been paved. The roads and infrastructures of Ayanbey, Yorgancı, Anasultan, Pirhasan, Kozağaç, and Yeşildere streets have been renovated and brought into service. Some roads have been widened to make transportation more comfortable for the people who live in Meram.
